Mares - Laura -
Elite Sport - Dressuur
Wellington Keur x Tolad x President
This year with the big
changes that are happening in our home life with the coming addition to our own family we
are making some very difficult decisions with the horses and are offering Laura Keur Elite
Sport Dressage for sale. Laura is a dream mare to own. This exceedingly beautiful
mare is one of our premier breeding mares. She is a class act all the way, with
wonderful conformation, depth and substance of a broodmare and a most outstanding pedigree
of quality. There are only a handful of KWPN mares in North America with all
the predicates that Laura has attained - Ster, Keur, Sport Dressage
and then Elite. She has the most predicates a mare can receive on her own.
Her Elite predicate was
earned at age 9 when the Prok x-rays were taken and passed as top rated by a panel of vets
after years of training and competing. The Elite status is only given
to Keur mares that pass the same bone radiographs that the KWPN stallions have to pass for
approval. Thus her x-rays were of the absolute highest quality. Laura's Damsire Lineage is
quite incredible - read more here.
She was imported in 2003 after years of competition in Holland. She competed to Z2
dressage with 3 competition points and was trained on higher movements. She was
ridden by Jacques Laarakkers – member of KWPN stallion committee and top dutch dressage
rider/trainer. Out of many horses she was picked by the VDL and presented to us in
which we were immediately enthralled with her. She has a daughter by Indoctro that
is a Ster mare in Holland and this mare now has a daughter that is also a Ster mare –
definitely passing in the generations. Her next daughter is Witaura by Flemmingh
whom sold to a top dressage rider. She then produced a strong powerful moving colt
Apollo by Riverman that sold to another top dressage rider. Last year she had an
absolute stunning colt Bravo by Flemmingh again that we are keeping. And this year
she knocked our socks off producing a dynamite Prestige filly Cintaura whom sold at less
then 2 weeks old. Her foals are very easy to sell.
She is presently in foal to Olympic Silvano N for a May 2008 foal. This foal will
have very similar breeding to Prestige - Olympic Silvano N out of a Nimmerdor
granddaughter. After seeing Cintaura we felt very confident in the cross and went
for the full blood of the extremely talented and successful Olympic Silvano N. We
were recently told by the Olympic Silvano N distributor that this is some of the last
frozen semen by Silvano as they are not collecting him anymore and there will be no more
semen sales to North America.
Laura is the easiest mare of all to breed. She always gets in foal on 1 dose of
frozen semen. Before we started doing our own breeding the vets commented she was
their favorite mare to breed because she is so easy. She has wonderful mothering ability.
Her foals are happy, secure, well fed
and easy to deal with. She
gives birth easily, maintains herself and her foal well, and is a happy and healthy mare. She always
passes on her easy going down to earth temperament which is so important in the foal’s
early development. She would also be an awesome prospect for embryo transfer because
of her great fertility.
She is a wonderful horse to ride. She hasn’t been ridden the past few years having
foals but even the other day Jason jumped on her bareback with a halter and rode her to
the barn from the pasture. She could easily be ridden this fall and brought back
into competition after her foal next year. She was primarily shown top level Z2
dressage but has done B level jumping as well in Holland.
She has excellent ground manners and is super easy to handle. Nothing bothers this mare.
She loves attention and will come running to the gate to greet you.

Laura first foal was a filly was by Indoctro she had while in Holland. She
received the "Ster" predicate at her inspection in Holland. This mare has
had a daughter by Corland that has also been declared Ster. The winning blood
continues through the generations.
Picture coming....
Laura's second foal was a filly, Witaura, by
Flemmingh Pref born on June 27, 2003. This filly is almost
an exact replica of Laura...who could ask for more!
Laura's third foal was a colt, Apollo, by the
KWPN Riverman born May 20, 2005. The cross with the 2001 KWPN
Test Champion Riverman has proven an amazing cross of talent and
bloodlines. What a colt!

Laura's fourth foal was a colt, Bravo, by Flemmingh
Pref (again) born May 14, 2006. This colt is simply spectacular and a definite
Stallion Prospect!!

Laura's fifth foal is just born, Cintaura, a filly, by Prestige born May 13, 2007. Stunning, Stunning, Stunning Filly!
